Clayton Kershaw, NL Pitcher of the Month for the first time in 7 years… AL is Gerrit Cole

Los Angeles Dodgers franchise star Clayton Kershaw was named Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitcher of the Month for the first time in seven years.

Kershaw was selected as the National League Pitcher of the Month at the April 2023 Major League Individual Award announcement announced on the 4th (Korean time).

It is the first time in seven years since May 2016 that 안전놀이터 Kershaw has been named Pitcher of the Month. 7th award in his personal career.

Kershaw made six starts last month and threw 38 innings, going 5-1 with a 1.89 ERA and 41 strikeouts. In the home game against the New York Mets on the 19th of last month, he also won his 200th personal career victory with a good pitch of 7 innings, 9 strikeouts and no runs.

In the American League, Gerrit Cole (New York Yankees) was named Pitcher of the Month for the 6th time in his personal career.

Ronald Acuña Jr. (Atlanta Braves) was selected as the Player of the Month in the National League and Matt Chapman (Toronto Blue Jays) in the American League.

Acuña Jr. raged last month with a batting average of 0.352, an on-base percentage of 0.440, a slugging percentage of 0.546, and 13 stolen bases.

Chapman hit 0.384 with 5 home runs and 21 RBIs, and his OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) reached 1.152.

Rookie of the Month went to James Outman of the Dodgers and Josh Young of the Texas Rangers.

The reliever of the month was awarded to Josh Hader of the San Diego Padres and Felix Bautista of the Baltimore Orioles.
