FC Seoul will be looking to redeem themselves after being docked a point in the last round due to a mistake.
FC Seoul will host Gangwon FC in the 15th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Seoul is in third place in the league with seven wins, three draws, and four losses (24 points), while Gangwon is in 11th place with two wins, five draws, and seven losses (11 points).
The second meeting between the two teams this season is expected to be heated due to their last first-round robin matchup. The incident occurred on March 26 with Seoul trailing 2-3. In second-half stoppage time, Seoul attacked from a corner kick and a scuffle broke out. Palošević kicked the ball out of the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed as the whistle blew just before.
The referee at the time called a foul on Seoul when he saw that Shin Min-woo had fallen. However, the Seoul player did not fall due to a foul, but rather tripped over a teammate’s foot. A day later, the Korean Football Association’s refereeing committee ruled that Palošević’s goal was a clear error.
As a result, Seoul was denied a point. The two teams would meet again about a month after their first meeting. The first time around, Seoul managed to turn things around somewhat, winning two games and drawing one after the loss to Gangwon. However, they are winless in their last two games with one draw and one loss, so they will be looking for a win against Gangwon.
Gangwon, on the other hand, got their first win of the season against Seoul and followed it up with a win against Jeonbuk Hyundai. However, the team has been in a goal-scoring slump since then, with one draw and three losses in their last four games, failing to score a single goal. With just seven goals in 14 league games this season, they are in desperate need of a rebound. Fortunately, Gangwon found their scoring touch in a 3-2 FA Cup win over Gimpo on Nov. 24.안전놀이터
The key players will be Hwang Eui-jo and Lee Jung-hyeop, who anchor the front line for their respective teams.
Hwang Ui-jo, who joined Seoul on loan ahead of the season, has been a regular striker for the club, but his goalscoring prowess has been criticized. Hwang distracts defenders with his physicality and off-the-ball movement up front, but he hasn’t really found the back of the net as a striker. This season, Hwang has scored two goals (including one PK). With about a month to go until the end of his contract, Seoul needs him to start scoring goals.
Lee Jung-hyeop returned from injury in the last round against the Pohang Steelers. He was given 45 minutes in the FA Cup against Gimpo to get a feel for the game. He also earned an attacking point by assisting on Gallego’s wedge goal in second-half stoppage time. Along with Kim Dae-won and Yang Hyun-joon, he will need to create the synergy he showed last season.
The head-to-head record favors Seoul. Seoul has 15 wins, 9 draws, and 9 losses. However, Choi Yong-soo’s
