Tottenham finally close to agreeing new manager…contract

Tottenham Hotspur’s negotiations with manager Enzi Postecoglou appear to be going well.

After parting ways with Antonio Conte in March, Tottenham spent more than two months searching for a new manager. Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Arne Schott, Xabi Alonso, and others have all been linked with the job, but for one reason or another, they either rejected Spurs’ offer or fell through.

Postecoglou emerged as a new candidate. Currently in charge of Celtic, Postecoglou has proven his leadership skills this season by leading the Hoops to a dominant treble. He won the League Cup, clinched the Scottish Premiership title early, and recently completed the treble by winning the Scottish Cup (FA Cup).

When asked ahead of the Scottish Cup final if he was being touted as the new Tottenham manager, Postecoglou said: “The important thing for me is where I am now (at Celtic). I have never planned anything in my entire football career. All I want to do now is enjoy tomorrow, play a good game, win the cup final and make this a special year. It’s not every year that you get the chance to achieve a treble. Anyone who says I’m thinking about anything else doesn’t know me,” he said, adding that he was focused on his current team.안전놀이터

At the time, it looked like Postecoglou would stay at Celtic, but now the mood has changed. With Tottenham actively courting him, Postecoglou has opened talks with Spurs and is reportedly making good progress.

Fabrizio Romano, who works for the British newspaper The Guardian and is known for his expertise in European football transfer markets, wrote on his social media account on Friday that “Tottenham will hold further talks with the CAA agency in the next 24 or 48 hours to get Postecoglou’s consent. The contract is close to being agreed and we are waiting for the final details.” After being vacant for over two months, it looks like Spurs could finally have a new manager.
