Water’s in, paddle out… ‘On the verge of a breakout’ Samsung needs to swing the ‘fire bat’ harder

The water is fully in, it’s time to paddle hard. It’s a Samsung story. It becomes a batting lineup. It’s a fire bat. When you attack, the whole team is energized. You have to swing it to your heart’s content. Only then can you break through.

Samsung won both games of a three-game weekend series against LG in the 2023 KBO League regular season at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on April 4-5. They won game one 5-4 and game two 6-3.

It’s nice to see that they were both come-from-behind wins. The bats are hitting. They averaged 5.5 points in the two games. They’re averaging 4.4 points per game on the season, so they’re getting more than a point more.

The same goes for August. On August 1-3, they had a sparkling series against KIA. They went 1-2 with a losing series, but the runs scored were 8-7-8-8. That’s 7.7 points per game.

Through five games in August, including this one, Samsung is scoring 6.8 points per game. Scoring close to seven points per game naturally increases their chances of winning.

In fact, Samsung has been hitting well overall in the second half. The team is hitting .336 as a team, and the team OPS is second at .841.

Kang Min-ho is hitting .326 with two home runs, 12 RBIs, and a .935 OPS, while Koo Ja-rook is exploding for a .424 batting average, one home run, 15 RBIs, and a 1.045 OPS. Kim Sung-yoon is batting .452 with one home run, six RBIs, nine runs scored, three doubles, and a 1.127 OPS.

Kim Hyun-joon is batting .365 with 11 RBIs and an OPS of 0.841, and Kim Ji-chan is hitting .368 with an OPS of 0.906. Transfer Ryu Ji-hyuk is also hitting well, with a .333 average, one home run, 13 RBIs, and a .784 OPS.

As the batting lineup grew stronger, so did the runs. The ninth-ranked Kiwoom’s seven-game losing streak has seen their points drop quickly. After five games, their win total is now zero. If Samsung had won just one more game in between, they could be in ninth place already.

It’s disappointing, but it wasn’t that long ago that the team was being called a “dead last” team. It’s a remarkable turnaround. They’ve had a fire bat. They need to keep this pace going.

The starters are also doing their part. With Baek Jung-hyun back from injury, the starting lineup of David Buchanan, Albert Suarez, Won Tae-in, Baek Jung-hyun, and Choi Chae-heung is back. This is Samsung’s strength.

The bullpen is relatively shaky, but against LG on the 4th and 5th, the bullpen combined for 5 innings of 1-run ball. That’s good. Not a bad trend.메이저놀이터

When you’re the bat, you know that if the mound is shaky, the offense can turn it around, and that empowers the whole team. It would be nice to be perfect in all areas, but baseball is a game where if one part is lacking, the other can make up for it and win.

It’s not a foregone conclusion. The team from the bottom has two conditions. The necessary condition is ‘win’. The sufficient condition is that the team above them loses, so it’s hard to move up the rankings.

Anyway, you need to win a lot when you are in a good mood. You have to win and see how the other games go. The good news is that the batting lineup is on fire. We need to keep it going to get out of last place.
